Ashes! Ashes! is a triptych I made as a demonstration for the talented kids at Fleisher's Teen Lounge. They created their own posters for Black & White Blow-up, a series of classes I taught over several weeks this summer, and pasted them up in Philadelphia's Italian Market area.
Inspired by Lucas Cranach, I've wanted to do a cutout of the fountain of youth for a long time. When I was asked by The University City District to decorate one of the pianos for their Heart & Soul project, I found the perfect opportunity to finally do it! Please join me for the opening reception and launch party Wednesday, June 6th from 6 - 8pm at The Porch at 30th Street Station in Philly!
Xie xie means "thank you" in Chinese! It's the name of the new album by my band, The Nite Lights, and we would very much appreciate it if you would check it out. Xie Xie EP is available NOW as a free Download at thenitelights.bandcamp.com. Or you can play it directly from the player in the side bar ---->
I was recently asked by Fleisher Art Memorial to participate in one of their Teen Lounges with fellow Philly artist, Yis Goowin. With the help of some really cool and talented Philly teenagers, we created "Everyone Has Their Own Arrow", an installation at 415 South St. You can check it out at the closing reception on Friday, March 23rd from 5-8pm. They promise "music, refreshments, and art activities!" Fun for the whole family!
Cut Creator is a retrospective of my paper cutouts since 2008. Close to forty works will be on view at Salon 1522 (1522 N Lawrence St, Philadelphia PA) March 2 - 30. Please join me for the opening reception Friday, March 2nd, 7 - 10pm!
