Vivere - to live. It is also the name of an ostentatious yacht owned by
Philadelphia Energy Solutions CEO Philip Rinaldi.
Along with other
chemical and energy companies Philadelphia Energy Solutions (PES) proposes “to establish Philadelphia as the East Coast
natural gas Hub in order to stimulate additional regional growth of
manufacturing businesses that can benefit from this resource.”
PES is responsible
for nearly
70 percent of Philadelphia’s toxic air release and has a terrible record with
the US EPA.
Expanding their operations
and making Philadelphia a petrochemical manufacturing import/export hub is not a
good deal for the citizens of Philadelphia. The companies involved belong to an
opportunistic religion where not making
maximum profit is the greatest sin. They have mastered the art of externalizing
costs to the poorest and least represented.
In designing his yacht
Mr. Rinaldi reveals his narcissum: "A
mega yacht not only represents your tastes, but is also, and most of all, a way
to express yourself, to show who you have become over the course of your life.
. . I wanted the vessel to reflect my personality as far as possible; I wanted
it to be perfect, a precise reconstruction of the image I had in mind: or even
better...."
